24 weeks and a buck-fifty

That's right, hit 150lbs on the gym scale today. Never been so happy to gain weight! That's 15 lbs so far which I think is pretty much right on schedule for 24 weeks. She is moving like crazy now, venturing into high-kick territory which I prefer to the bladder punches.

Sunday at Mount Rainier

Here are some pics of our snowhoe to reflection lake today. Unfortunately, no doggies allowed inside the national park, but the humans had a great time! Yes, I had to borrow one of Barry's coats as mine are no longer an option.

Closet for Baby

I have been looking at "portable" storage systems to solve the closet problem. Most of the cheap wire/cloth systems looked just that: cheap, like they could fall apart at any moment. But the other alternative of buying a wardrobe seemed too expensive considering our housing is not a permanent situation. I happened to walk into home depot today and found EXACTLY what I was looking for. A simple white put-it-together-yourself stand alone closet for $100. It is made of particle board and actually has doors so that baby's clothes have some protection from dust. It is quite heavy though so it may stay in this house when we do eventually move. It will stay in the garage until we feel motivated to put it together!

Did our taxes today. Thank you Turbo Tax! Of course, we owe. But that came as no surprise.

22 weeks and someone likes Reggae!

Barry happened to put on Bob Marley a couple nights ago and baby started a little kickboxing frenzy in there. She seemed to be "Jammin" so we hooked her up to headphones! She also really goes crazy when I sing. I was in the mood for singing show tunes one night this week and it felt like she was singing along.

I upgraded my swimsuit last weekend too. It took me 2 hours (probably 50 suits) to find a 1 piece that was stretchy, supportive, and comfortable enough for me to wear for workouts. Io must be the only one that thinks my "mom suit" is interesting, but hey, it does the job!
Thank you Io, for trying to help momma feel sexy.

Arranging furniture

Since our current space will put the nursery in our room, I did some furniture arranging today. I am pleased to say that our space will easily accommodate the crib and the extra dresser that will double as a changing table. Io is pleased that his doggy bed will also fit comfortably among the humans when baby arrives. The only problem remaining is closet space for baby clothes as our bedroom closet is small and filled with all of my clothes....and it seems like I just got rid of a bunch of clothes! I'm sure we'll figure it out.

Yes, It's a girl!

There she is! She has all her parts, placenta in good postion, she is not too small, not too big...in other words, she's perfect! I understand now the amnesia about first trimester sickness. All those hormones are making momma sick to make a damn fine baby! I am really feeling tons of movement now. Barry has felt some pretty good thumps too.
