Momma found a back-up doula

I've been sitting on my ball, walking, swimming, everything I can do to help this baby get down nice and low. My pubic bones felt like they were splitting doing the breast stroke in the pool this morning so things must be opening up a little bit...I hope. Don't think its gonna happen this week which is good as Barry is out of town. But should there be a surprise, I discovered I have a furry back-up doula!

36 weeks- 6 lbs of baby!

We had our 36 week ultrasound today. At the first look, my OB thought she was on the small side, but once she took measurements, she is estimated at 6 lbs already! Normal for 36 weeks is around 5 lbs. My cervix is closed tight which is a relief as Barry will be out of town next week for work. However, that means watching the carbs closely so I don't grow a huge baby by delivery time. Looks like we will likely have a full term kiddo and I don't want to push out a giant!

All Day Marathon

We had our all-day marathon childbirth preparation class yesterday. It was informative, but a very long day to take in so much information. It's not the labor and delivery that scares me though. It's what happens AFTER that. Labor will, no matter how difficult, eventually be over. It will end. Being a parent goes on and on and on....and the consequences of what you do or don't do along the way impact each day after that.

34 weeks, 4 days

"Protected by AUSTRALIAN SHEPHERD"

Cory and I were born at 34 weeks and we turned out okay...so I figure anytime would be just fine! But hopefully our little girl will bake until at least 37 weeks to keep her out of the NICU. I received a 2nd baby shower at work last Thursday and really feel like we have all the basics in place. The crib is now fully functional, though I don't have the complete Bunny Meadow bedding set to make her crib super cute...yet...uh...last item on my BRus registry...up for grabs!

It's HOT

No AC. Thermostat reads 85 at 7PM. We hardly had summer the last 2 summers. Wouldn't you know the summer I am in my last 2 months of pregnancy would be the hot one! Very happy we sleep in the cool basement. But the heat does NOT help my 2+ pitting edema in my legs right now, not to mention my shrinking bladder capacity. Just about 6 weeks to go...or earlier would be just fine with me! Come to think of it, I was born at 34 weeks and turned out just fine.
